All children, especially infants, need a setting where they can thrive with caregivers who understand how to promote their healthy growth and development. That's because young children need a schedule that is responsive to their needs, with appropriate stimulation and time to rest. They need to be talked to and played with. They need love and attention and they need the opportunity to form the kind of comfortable, secure relationship with a caregiver that will nurture their healthy emotional development.

Mill Creek Early Childhood Program...

Is loving and responsive
We hug, rock, cuddle, and seek eye contact with your infant... respond to their smiles and emerging skills and interests...find ways to expand upon their play to help them learn new skills.  We talk with your infant about what they do and see... a playful partner who introduces new ideas, objects and games.

Respects your infants individuality
We understand and nurture your babies' development... recognize their personal rhythms, style, strengths and limitations...and apply these when planning the pace and time for eating, sleeping and playing...open and comfortable with accommodating to your infant's special needs or conditions.

Provides a stimulating and child-friendly environment
Ensuring cleanliness and safety so your infant can explore their surroundings...filled with interesting and stimulating things to explore...set up to promote learning through free play...changed regularly to accommodate the needs of their individual development...organized to have distinct eating and diapering areas and set up to be comfortable and practical, allowing us to focus on your child.

What you will see in our infant room
We understand and nurture  your infant
's learning through the everyday moments they share.  For example, talking to your baby during a diaper change, comforting or singing to them if they are upset.  Responding to your infant, even when they may be too young to understand the meaning of our words, lets them know that their feelings and experiences are important and respected.
